We've polished up a golfing gem so that it shimmers and shines again.
Sportsman's Country Club in Northbrook has always been a favorite with Chicagoland golfers who appreciate its outstanding history and its memorable 75-year-old layout designed by Edward Dearie, a protégé of the famous Donald Ross.
But now, the Northbrook Park District has restored Sportsman's 18-hole Championship Course with the aim of reviving some of the original Ross style and feeling. The biggest change is in the bunkers – some are gone, some are new, some have been rebuilt. You'll need new strategies and maybe a few more sand saves to deal with these changes.
We've also spiffed up greens and tees to make them fresh and new, and we've improved drainage and irrigation. What you have now is a course that will play more smoothly and that make a fitting match for your high-tech clubs and best game.
